Riot Games has announced a new feature aimed at reducing toxicity in League of Legends: players will no longer be able to ban champions their teammates selected during the pre-pick stage.
Previously, some players deliberately banned ally picks, which often led to conflicts, early lobby exits, and penalties. According to designer Chris “Auberaun” Roberts, this behavior created a highly negative experience before the match even began.
The update is already live on the test server and will roll out in certain regions with patch 25.20 (15.20) on October 8. If testing goes well, Riot plans to enable the change globally.
