Riot Games has announced that starting from the 2025 season, a third international championship will be added to the League of Legends tournament calendar, which will take place in March. Initially, five teams will participate in the competition.
The new tournament is scheduled after the completion of the first split. After the conclusion of this new championship, the second split will be used for qualification for the Mid-Season Invitational, as before.

After the MSI concludes, teams will return to the Worlds competition. Additionally, it was announced that all leagues will be transitioned to a three-split system. Furthermore, Riot has merged all American regions into the Americas league (North America, Latin America, and Brazil), while Japan, Vietnam, Oceania, and Taiwan have been merged into the APAC league.
