Insider Tom Henderson has provided more insight into the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake initially revealed back in 2020.
After Ubisoft’s Indian studio fell short on the remake, the project was handed over to Ubisoft Montreal. They claimed to have to start nearly all over because creating a high-quality version of the remake was impossible due to the prior process, and the backlash against the original trailer was so severe that Ubisoft removed it from all platforms.
On a recent episode of the Insider Gaming podcast, Henderson said that Ubisoft plans for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to be released in mid-January 2026. There’s also a hint on the game’s official page alluding to “big news” at The Game Awards 2025.
Henderson also noted that the Sands of Time remake will almost definitely come before the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, which is expected to come in late March 2026.
