Microsoft is once again experimenting with errors in Windows 11, bringing back the “Green Screen of Death” (GSOD), previously used in test builds of the OS.
In the latest Windows Insider Preview versions, users have noticed that the traditional “Blue Screen of Death” (BSOD) has now turned green. Microsoft originally used this color to differentiate critical crashes in insider builds from those in stable releases.
According to the company, this change is intended to improve diagnostics and streamline system testing. However, users are already joking that Microsoft is making system crashes “more visually appealing.”
For now, the “Green Screen of Death” is only available in Windows 11 insider builds. Whether it will appear in the final version of the OS remains unclear.
