A new age rating for Metroid Prime 4 has surfaced, with the game being classified as suitable for players aged 12 and up due to mild violence, according to a listing published on Friday.
The highly anticipated title is still set to launch on the original Nintendo Switch sometime this year, with an enhanced version for Switch 2 also reportedly in the works.
Multiple reports suggest that Nintendo is preparing to hold a Nintendo Direct soon, where the official release date for Metroid Prime 4 may finally be revealed — aligning with what VGC sources have also indicated.
The latest trailer for the game was released in March, confirming that the title remains on track for a 2025 release.
According to the official synopsis, Samus Aran finds herself mysteriously transported to the planet Viewros. As she searches for answers, she gains psychic abilities — ancient powers that let her manipulate beam paths, control machinery, and open sealed doors.
“Why has Samus been given these powers, and what destiny awaits her?” the description teases. “Threads across space and time will converge in a new story when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond arrives on Nintendo Switch later this year.”
