Russian pro player Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov shared the reasons behind his transfer to Team Falcons in Counter-Strike 2, revealing that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač was the key factor in his decision.
“Reuniting with NiKo was my main goal. I don’t think anything could’ve kept me in G2 after he left. A few months into the new G2 lineup, it became clear to me that I wanted to play alongside him again,” m0NESY said.
Osipov officially joined Falcons in April 2025, just one day after G2 placed second at PGL Bucharest.
Since then, he has already played in two grand finals with Falcons — at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 and IEM Melbourne 2025 — but the team fell short against Team Vitality on both occasions.
Falcons’ next major challenge will be BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, with their campaign kicking off on the evening of June 7.
