Today, February 4, marks the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. The first reviews are in, and they are overwhelmingly positive.
On Metacritic, the game has received an average score of 87 out of 100, significantly surpassing the first installment’s rating of 76.
Critics praise the deep open world, a story rich in political intrigue, an improved combat system, and engaging side quests. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is being hailed as “one of the best RPGs in recent years.”
Among the drawbacks, reviewers mention some technical issues, though they are far fewer than in the first game, as well as the unchanged save system.
The developers intentionally delayed the release by a week to avoid competition with other major February launches, such as Civilization VII, Monster Hunter Wilds, Avowed, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
