After years of silence, Team Cherry has finally broken cover — Hollow Knight: Silksong is officially coming not only to Nintendo Switch, but also to the upcoming Switch 2, expected to launch this June. Even better, the game will be available day one on Game Pass, removing platform exclusivity concerns.
Speculation had long swirled about whether Silksong would still land on the first-gen Switch. Now it’s confirmed: the game will launch on both old and new Nintendo hardware, as revealed by marketing lead Matthew Griffin.

There’s still no official word on the price, but Game Pass will give many players a chance to dive in at no extra cost.
New screenshots have surfaced via the Japanese eShop, revealing notable updates to the game’s visual style — including softer color tones, deeper atmosphere, improved lighting, and enhanced shadows. However, accessing them may be tricky, as the store has been experiencing issues.
Fans have been waiting more than six years for Silksong. While an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, mounting reports point to a 2025 launch.

A sequel to the beloved Hollow Knight, Silksong shifts focus to Hornet, a fierce and agile warrior. The original game earned praise for its rich lore, challenging combat, and masterful Metroidvania design blending platforming, adventure, and RPG elements.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is set to release on:
- Nintendo Switch
- Switch 2
- PC
- PS4 & PS5
- Xbox Series X/S
- GeForce Now
…and will be available via Xbox Game Pass at launch.
