Hideo Kojima reveals his plans for 2026

2026 is shaping up to be a busy year for Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima has shared the studio’s plans, with the horror project OD and the spy action game Physint taking center stage as part of the company’s second phase of development.

In a post on X (Twitter), Kojima outlined the studio’s next steps.

“We will continue developing the horror game OD and move into the preparation phase for the spy action title Physint. This includes casting, scanning, and filming using motion capture,” Kojima said.

Work is also ongoing on Death Stranding adaptations. Kojima noted that the studio is actively pushing forward with a live-action feature film, while also developing animated projects and planning several events throughout the year.

At the same time, Kojima admitted he has some doubts about OD’s success. He explained that while the studio’s previous games introduced new ideas, they were still built on familiar systems. OD, however, aims to redefine the service model from the ground up, which makes it a particularly challenging project.

In addition, Hideo Kojima announced an animated Death Stranding adaptation titled Death Stranding: Isolations, scheduled for release in 2027. The series will tell a standalone story, separate from the game, following the journey of a young man and a woman.
