Games come alive, and the fun never ends!

Hazelight Is Already Working on Its Next Game

Hazelight founder Josef Fares has confirmed that the studio is continuing work on its next project following the success of cooperative hits It Takes Two and Split Fiction.

The game has been in development since February 2025. At that time, Fares noted it was still in the early stages but expressed confidence that the team could deliver an experience even stronger than their previous titles. Recently, Hazelight shared a playful social media post hinting at the project:
“We’re back in the kitchen cooking up something really tasty!”

Fares also shared a photo from the studio with the caption: “Next game in development.”

In a humorous note, Hazelight mentioned that the image employed “strategic hand placement technology”, as a developer’s hand deliberately covers the faces of others in the shot.

Fares emphasized that the team doesn’t feel pressure from the success of Split Fiction:
“It’s not like we’re thinking, ‘Oh no, how do we top Split Fiction or make something better?’ We’re just focused on what comes next. I know it sounds confident, but that’s exactly how certain we are about what we’re creating.”

While all of Hazelight’s previous games have been cooperative, Fares stressed that co-op remains part of the studio’s DNA, though he didn’t rule out experimenting with single-player gameplay in the future.

“You never know what the future holds. It’s possible we might explore a solo game, but it will be done in Hazelight’s style, with the studio’s signature approach. It definitely won’t be a typical single-player experience,” Fares added.
