Epic Games has rolled out a major Fortnite Festival update (v34.40), introducing a long-requested feature that lets players remix music solo—bringing back the spirit of Harmonix’s beloved music game, Fuser.
Previously, the Jam Stage in Fortnite Festival allowed players to mix tracks collaboratively, but now, for the first time, they can craft their own remixes solo, without relying on other players. This update gives fans the freedom to combine elements from various songs and build fully customized mashups.
Similar to Fuser and Harmonix’s Dropmix, players can mix and match individual stems—vocals, guitar, bass, and drums—from different songs. For instance, you might layer Sabrina Carpenter’s vocals over Metallica’s drums, with Soulja Boy’s steel drum melody and Rage Against the Machine’s bassline to create a unique remix. The game intelligently adjusts tempo and pitch to ensure smooth transitions and musical harmony.
Previously, this remixing process required input from multiple players, which often frustrated those wanting creative control. Now, thanks to the solo jam feature, players can enter a private session using the emote menu and assign stems across four channels—without interruptions from others.

While others can still join and contribute in open sessions, players seeking a pure solo experience can select modes like No Fill in the Fortnite Festival Main Stage lobby.
This update pays homage to Harmonix’s Fuser, which was discontinued in 2022, reviving its remix legacy in a new, creative format for Fortnite fans.
