A spiritual successor to the viral hit Flappy Bird is officially in development, and the team behind it has made one thing clear: there will be no Web3, crypto, or NFT integrations.
Despite being developed by a group with previous ties to blockchain-based projects, the new version will focus entirely on recreating the simplicity and addictiveness of the original 2013 game. The developers emphasize that they’re aiming to bring back the fun without any of the monetization trends currently dominating mobile gaming.
The original Flappy Bird, created by Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen, was pulled from stores in 2014 despite massive popularity, due to concerns about its addictive nature. This new project seeks to revive the core experience for a modern audience — with cleaner design and updated features, but no blockchain gimmicks.
