Final Fantasy 7 Remake development leads Naoki Hamaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura shared new details regarding the trilogy’s concluding chapter in an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze. As reported by insider Genki_JPN, the team is already in the home stretch of selecting the subtitle for the game.
Key Interview Highlights:
- Choosing a Title: Hamaguchi noted that two final options are being considered. The final decision will be made by the end of this year.
- Why not “Reunion”? Fans long considered this option a favorite as it logically fit into the narrative concept. However, as the developers pointed out, this title was already “taken” by the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 remaster. The community is now leaning towards options starting with “R,” such as Return or Reset, to maintain the naming style of the previous installments (Remake, Rebirth).
- Keyword “Highwind”: Hamaguchi hinted that the concept of the legendary airship Highwind will be central to the third part. It is expected to serve as the primary means of transportation across the open world.
Development Status According to the director, the bulk of production is already complete.
“At this stage, the core game experience is almost complete, and we are in the polishing and refining phase,” Hamaguchi assured.
New official details will be released as soon as the team achieves the desired level of product quality.
