The first 8-minute gameplay footage for Fatekeeper presents a first-person fantasy RPG with several elements reminiscent of Dark Messiah and Souls-like mechanics.
The video features a strange talking rat companion that guides the hero – and argues with – as they move through a ruined castle on their way to the “Moon Gate.”

The gameplay is focused around melee combat, dodging, getting kills from the environment, incorporating magic and physical usage. You can break down barricades, find routes that can really make sense, and then use the verticality in the level to your advantage; even kick characters off ledges.

The narrative element follows a newly appointed “Fatekeeper” who must restore balance after the ancient conflict between two worlds that are tied together. Character progression can provide different builds from heavy-hitting warriors, to pyromancers or alchemists.

The title is developed on Unreal Engine 5, and the game has been in development since 2021 with no current release date stated.
