A journalist from VGC, Jordan Middler, recently revealed during the “Friends Per Second” podcast that Bethesda is currently working on multiple Fallout-related projects — one of which is the highly anticipated game “everyone wants”.
Middler didn’t specify which Fallout project this is, but fan speculation includes:
- A Fallout 3 remake
- A Fallout: New Vegas remaster
- A proper New Vegas sequel
- A potential involvement from Obsidian Entertainment, given their current downtime.
Todd Howard from Bethesda previously hinted at two unannounced Fallout projects—one possibly being a Fallout 3 remaster—casting further credibility on these rumors .
Although Bethesda Game Studios is fully focused on The Elder Scrolls VI, sources suggest that Fallout 5 itself is unlikely to arrive before 2030–2031. According to leaker Colt Eastwood, Obsidian might be developing a Fallout 4 spin-off in the style of New Vegas, possibly releasing around 2026.
So while devotees will have to wait several more years for Fallout 5, the next few years could see the arrival of remasters, spin-offs, and side projects filling the Fallout universe.
