Online MMORPG Dune: Awakening has launched in early access and immediately drew in a massive player base — around 100,000 players on Steam. However, the strong debut led to server issues, with many users encountering login queues and connection errors.
Developed by Funcom, the early access period began on June 5, 2025, for players who purchased the Deluxe and Ultimate editions. The full release is scheduled for June 10. Despite preparing multiple server regions, the developers underestimated the initial demand.
Funcom confirmed that it is actively working to expand server capacity and optimize performance. Players were assured that additional servers will be launched soon to ensure more stable access for everyone.
Dune: Awakening is a survival MMO set in the legendary Dune universe, where players explore the harsh deserts of Arrakis, compete for resources, and build their own shelters.
