Dreamhaven, the company co-founded by Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime, has officially announced Sunderfolk, a tactical turn-based RPG designed for local cooperative play on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
One of the standout features of Sunderfolk is its unique control system that allows players to manage their characters using mobile devices via a dedicated app. Developers revealed that the game is inspired by classic tabletop RPGs, aiming to bring a fresh experience to the genre.
In Sunderfolk, players can choose from six classes, including Bard, Pyromancer, and Rogue. The gameplay involves battling various enemies, adapting to different conditions, completing quests, and upgrading the city of Arden. In peaceful locations, players can interact with merchants and other NPCs, building relationships and earning rewards.
The developers have reimagined beloved characters, giving them unique abilities through skill cards. Players can further enhance their characters with special weapons and charms.
The game is being developed by Secret Door, a studio owned by Dreamhaven, primarily comprising former Blizzard employees. Sunderfolk is slated for release in 2025, with a Steam page already live, featuring the minimum system requirements for players.
