On Monday, Marvel Tokon’s Steam page briefly displayed new details about the fighter before being removed (though Resetera managed to archive it). The listing confirmed a 20-character roster and a single-player mode.
The page revealed that Marvel Tokon will support online lobbies for up to 64 players and will require a PlayStation account on PC.
“Choose from an initial roster of 20 iconic Marvel characters, each rendered in a striking anime-inspired style and organized into unique teams of heroes and villains,” the page stated.
“Experiment with different team compositions to discover new combos, synergies, and strategies. Battle across dynamic arenas inspired by the Marvel Universe, some featuring interactive stage transitions.
“The combat system is designed to be engaging yet accessible, featuring diverse move sets, combos, and strategies. Both traditional and simplified control schemes are available, along with easy chain combos for instant action.”
It also noted: “Face off against a friend locally or join online lobbies with up to 64 players, including standard VS modes. Dive deeper into each team through Episode Mode to explore team dynamics and backstories.”
Originally announced last summer, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is slated for release in 2026 and showcases Marvel superheroes in a Japanese art style. The game is being developed by PlayStation XDEV in partnership with Arc System Works.
