Behavior Interactive has confirmed the return of the popular 2v8 mode to Dead by Daylight in November. The updated version will feature new killers, maps, and other content, making it noticeably different from the previous iteration.
The 2v8 mode debuted on July 25 and was available until August 15. Initially, the mode was supposed to end on August 8, but positive feedback from players convinced the developers to extend it. According to production lead Stefan Beauchamp, the team aims to make the mode permanent in the future, using player feedback to tweak and improve it.
Nearly three months after its removal, 2v8 will return with new additions on November 12 as a limited-time mode, running until November 26.
Behavior Interactive has also confirmed that killers in the new version of 2v8 will include The Trapper, The Wraith, The Hillbilly, The Nurse, The Huntress, The Blight, The Spirit, and The Deathslinger. New maps will feature 2v8 versions of Yamaoka Estate and Graves of Glendale. Survivors will receive upgraded abilities and active skills.
Company director Justin Brown emphasized that the developers don’t want players waiting months to play 2v8 again. They plan to maintain a regular, consistent approach to the mode in future versions, with more Dead by Daylight updates expected in 2025.
