Cyberpunk 2077 continues expanding to new platforms — the game is officially launching on Mac on July 17, alongside the release of patch 2.3.
It will be available across Mac App Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com, offered as the Ultimate Edition, which includes the Phantom Liberty expansion, all major updates, and the photo mode.
The Mac version is fully optimized for Apple Silicon processors — including M1, M2, and M4 chips. Instead of relying on third-party emulation, the game runs natively using Apple’s Metal API and Tile-Based Deferred Rendering. It also supports MetalFX upscaling and AMD FSR, with path tracing and cinematic lighting enabled on higher-end chips.
A minimum of 16 GB unified memory is required, meaning base Mac models with 8 GB RAM are not supported. Different Apple chips will automatically use tailored graphics profiles.
Additional Mac-specific features include:
- HDR support on Apple XDR displays
- Spatial audio
- Head tracking via AirPods
- Compatibility with Magic Mouse and Trackpad
CD Projekt RED originally announced the Mac port during Apple’s 2023 event with a vague 2025 release window, but the game is now arriving this week, just a month and a half after its Switch 2 debut. Cyberpunk 2077 now joins Resident Evil 4 Remake and Assassin’s Creed Shadows as major AAA titles officially ported to macOS.
The Mac version will support cross-progression across all platforms, allowing players to continue from where they left off. Those who own the game on Steam, Epic, or GOG will automatically receive the Mac version in their libraries. This marks the first time the game is officially available on so many platforms at once: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, Mac, and even the now-defunct Stadia.
