The Counter-Strike 2 skin market has reached a new all-time high, with the total value of in-game items now exceeding $6 billion. This figure includes weapons, stickers, agents, cases, and other items traded on Steam’s marketplace.
According to Dexerto, the sharp increase is largely fueled by Chinese investors, who have been actively purchasing rare skins, driving both demand and prices to record levels. In 2023 alone, Valve earned around $1 billion from case openings, and players are now opening over 400 million cases annually.
For comparison, back in April 2025, the market was valued at $4.5 billion, but by October, it had surpassed $6 billion, adding nearly $200 million in just one week.
The most valuable items are rare skins, some of which sell for six-figure sums. In 2024, one AK-47 skin was sold for over $1 million. However, the market remains highly volatile — for instance, the price of the Evil Geniuses sticker skyrocketed from just a few dollars to $200 in September, only to drop back down to $10 shortly after.
