Bethesda has revealed a 15-minute gameplay trailer for its new action-adventure game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The footage introduces the storyline, allies who will aid players on their journey, a variety of locations to explore, and useful tools that enhance the adventure experience.
In the game’s plot, the legendary archaeologist Indiana Jones sets off to retrieve a stolen relic, joining forces with Italian journalist Gina, who is searching for her missing sister. Jones faces off against Emmerich Vask, a rival archaeologist also seeking the powerful artifact.
Players will explore diverse global locations like modern-day Thailand (the former Kingdom of Siam) and Egypt. The gameplay emphasizes puzzle-solving, seamlessly woven into the storyline and requiring analytical thinking for progression.
To assist players, a hint system is available. By photographing puzzle elements, players can receive guidance from Jones himself. Other key gameplay features include platforming with both first- and third-person camera options and a tactical combat system inspired by the style of Dishonored.
Stealth is essential, as Indiana often infiltrates guarded areas. Players can use disguises, transforming into characters such as a priest, as showcased in the trailer. However, maintaining the disguise requires behaving in character to avoid detection by watchful enemies.
Enemies can be taken down with just a few blows, and Jones has special upgrades, including the unique ability to recover his hat after a close call, offering a second chance at success.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9 for PC and Xbox Series X|S (including Xbox Game Pass), with a PlayStation 5 launch scheduled for spring 2025.
