Beat Saber ends support for PS VR and PS VR2: no new songs or multiplayer

All future updates and new content for Beat Saber, including upcoming music tracks, will be released exclusively on Meta Quest and Steam. Support for PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2 is officially coming to an end.

In an official statement, the developers at Beat Games said:

“We have made the decision to stop releasing updates for PS4 and PS5 starting in June 2025, as we prepare for the next big leap for Beat Saber.”

Despite this move, the studio emphasized its continued commitment to VR innovation and said it looks forward to what lies ahead for the game and its community.

The last track released for Sony’s VR platforms was “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga, which dropped on June 5. All future music releases will skip PS VR and PS VR2 entirely.

Players on these platforms will still be able to access and play the game, and previously released tracks will remain available for purchase. Beat Saber will continue to be sold on PS4 and PS5, and users will still be able to buy and play all content released before June 18, 2025.

However, starting January 21, 2026, multiplayer will be disabled for both PS VR and PS VR2 versions of the game.

That said, Beat Games reassured the community that it will continue offering customer support for PlayStation users to ensure a smooth experience.

“Thank you for the incredible support over the years. We’re excited to share what the future holds for Beat Saber,” the studio wrote.
