EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will support selective installation, allowing players to install only the parts of the game they want — such as just the campaign or multiplayer. Preloading for the beta is now live, with file sizes ranging from 33 to 39 GB depending on the platform.

The closed beta starts on August 7, but early access requires a special code. You can get one by:
- Signing up for Battlefield Labs before July 31
- Watching a designated stream on Twitch
- Or by being a EA Play Pro subscriber
All other players will be able to jump in during the public testing windows:
- August 9–10 – Open Beta Weekend #1
- August 14–17 – Open Beta Weekend #2, featuring new content

- Siege of Cairo – urban warfare in the streets of Cairo
- Liberation Peak – mountainous terrain
- Iberian Offensive – coastal battlefield
Modes:
- Conquest – classic point-capture on large-scale maps
- Breakthrough – sector-based attack and defense
- Closed Weapons Breakthrough – class-restricted weapon mode
- Domination – fast-paced matches on smaller maps
- King of the Hill – hold zones to win
In the second beta phase, players will unlock:
- Empire State – vertical combat in a dense urban environment
- Rush – attack and defend communication hubs
- Squad Deathmatch – 4v4 team-based skirmishes
There will be a total of 9 multiplayer maps at launch.
