11 Bit Studios has officially confirmed the development of a new project set in the Frostpunk universe, scheduled for release in 2027. The decision follows the commercial success of Frostpunk 2, which sold over 592,000 copies and generated more than 70 million PLN in revenue.

The studio emphasizes that this is more than just another game — it’s part of a strategic expansion of the IP. According to their financial report, the team plans to diversify the scale and timing of future projects, while also taking advantage of short-term profitable opportunities. As a result, the upcoming release could be a direct sequel, a spin-off, or even a title developed by a partner studio.
Despite strong sales, 2024 proved to be a challenging year — 11 Bit Studios closed it with an operating loss of nearly 3 million PLN. Still, the company remains optimistic.
“We’ve learned from our setbacks and are looking to the future with confidence,” said studio president Przemysław Marszał.
While details about the new project remain under wraps, one thing is clear — Frostpunk is no longer just a game, but a fully-fledged global franchise with ambitious plans for the future.
