The Swedish studio, which has yet to reveal a release date for Den of Wolves, announced that a “large number” of employees will be affected by upcoming layoffs, describing the move as necessary for the project’s future.
In an official statement, a spokesperson said the team is reassessing its structure and internal processes to ensure Den of Wolves reaches its full potential.
“We can confirm that we’re carefully reviewing how we operate and how the studio is organized so Den of Wolves can become the game it’s meant to be,” the spokesperson said.
As a result, the company will undergo major restructuring, impacting numerous positions, including several co-founders.
“We understand that these changes are challenging, and we’re handling them with care. Out of respect for those involved, we won’t discuss individual cases. Our focus remains on delivering Den of Wolves.”
The studio also confirmed that Ulf Anderson and Simon Viklund remain fully dedicated to the project and will continue leading the company. Further updates will be shared through official channels when available.
Earlier this week, 10 Chambers co-founder Hjalmar Vikström revealed he was leaving the company, though he did not reference the restructuring.
Founded in 2015 by former Payday developers, 10 Chambers first gained success with its co-op shooter GTFO. In 2020, the studio sold a significant stake to Chinese tech giant Tencent.
Since 2023, Den of Wolves — the studio’s highly anticipated return to the heist genre — has been showcased at two consecutive The Game Awards ceremonies, including a drone show in Los Angeles.
Last year, 10 Chambers also announced plans to launch a documentary series titled Do the Game, offering an in-depth look at the development of Den of Wolves.
