PlayStation Confirms 35-Minute State of Play Featuring Housemarque’s Saros

Sony has announced that the next State of Play will air on September 24 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST, featuring over 35 minutes of announcements and updates from developers around the globe.

Viewers can expect fresh looks at highly anticipated third-party and indie games, as well as updates from several PlayStation Studios teams. The showcase will also include an extended presentation of Saros, Housemarque’s mysterious new project slated for release next year.

First revealed earlier this year, Saros stars Rahul Kohli and continues Housemarque’s tradition of sci-fi action, though it isn’t narratively tied to Returnal.

“Saros is an action game with a haunting story of a lost off-world colony on Carcosa under an ominous eclipse,” explained director Gregory Louden. Players will step into the role of Arjun Devraj, a determined Soltari Enforcer on a relentless search. Louden describes the game as an emotional character-driven experience exploring the cost of building a new future.

Kohli, known for his work in Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher, brings Arjun to life with what Louden calls a “stunning performance.” More details on the ensemble cast and narrative will be revealed closer to launch.
