Invokyr, a cooperative psychological horror game for up to four players that blends traditional horror themes with tabletop game mechanics, is the latest project from independent studio Ludogram, which is well-known for its narrative-driven games.
The premise
A mysterious, deserted mansion traps four friends. There is an odd board game in the middle of the room. Every dice roll results in unforeseen supernatural events, and one of the players assumes the role of Gamemaster, leading the session.
In order to explore the eerie mansion, survive the horrors the game unleashes, and figure out how to get out, players must work together.
Important features include distinct monsters and hunting strategies that change with every round.
Cursed dice that have both beneficial and harmful properties (sabotaging, hiding, and healing)
The mansion’s randomized biomes include icy rooms, jungles, enormous toys, and more.
With each roll of the dice, there are more traps, curses, and mayhem.
Player interaction, psychological tension, and a dynamic environment influenced by the board game itself are the main points of interest.
Invokyr will debut as a multiplayer PC game, according to Ludogram. Soon, more information about the supported platforms and release date will be available.
