Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, NAVI’s backup player, stated that he doesn’t consider the sniper role to be his primary one in Counter-Strike 2. According to him, he only picks up the AWP when he feels confident or when the team needs it.
“I’m not a sniper, guys. You should know that. I play with the AWP when I feel the rifle. Or if the team needs it,” s1mple said.
The statement may be a hint at a potential role switch to rifler, suggesting s1mple could step away from the AWP in the future.
Earlier, s1mple doubted he would receive a commemorative medal for participating in the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, where he played for FaZe Clan as a stand-in. Due to Valve’s policies, he might not receive the in-game reward.
After his loan to FaZe ended, Kostyliev returned to NAVI’s bench. According to rumors, his contract with the Ukrainian club expires at the end of 2025, and it’s still unclear where he will continue his career.
