On the night of July 16, Valve released a major update for Counter-Strike 2, bringing changes to the competitive map pool and launching Premier Season 3.
The most notable change is the return of Overpass, which will replace Anubis. The latter was added in spring 2024 as a substitute for Dust 2. The updated map pool is expected to be used at IEM Cologne 2025, which kicks off on July 23.
Premier Season 3 has also begun. Players must complete 10 placement matches to receive a new rank. The updated rating will take into account performance in both the current season and Season 2. Valve has not yet announced when the third season will end.
