Astralis has announced the appointment of Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen as the new captain of its Counter-Strike 2 roster. The official announcement was made via the organization’s social media channels.
HooXi replaces Casper “cadiaN” Møller and is set to make his full debut with the team at IEM Cologne 2025, scheduled for late July.
Current Astralis roster:
- Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen
- Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard
- Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz
- Martin “stavn” Lund
- Victor “Staehr” Staehr
HooXi already played with Astralis as a stand-in at PGL Major Copenhagen 2025, where the team finished second after falling to Team Spirit in the grand final with a 1:3 scoreline. This marked Astralis’ best result since January 2021.
Despite recent success in CS2, rumors about the organization’s financial struggles continue to circulate. Astralis reportedly ended 2024 with a $4.7 million loss, shut down nearly all of its rosters in other disciplines, and is considering selling the organization, according to speculation.
