A new video compilation, embedded above, showcases B-roll footage released by CD Projekt Red, offering an extended look at Cyberpunk 2077 running on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The clips demonstrate various gameplay elements in action on the new hardware — including driving sequences through Night City, combat encounters, and cinematic cutscenes.
Earlier hands-on impressions from Switch 2 preview events noted performance issues, especially with frame rate stability. However, this latest footage suggests that many of those problems have since been resolved, with gameplay now running at a consistent 30 frames per second.
A likely contributor to this improved performance is the use of Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology, which allows the game to be upscaled to higher resolutions while easing the load on the system’s hardware.
In an interview last month, CD Projekt Red engineer Tim Green highlighted how Switch 2’s hardware allowed for a more advanced version of Cyberpunk 2077 than what was possible on PS4 and Xbox One.
“Cyberpunk 2077 has received a huge amount of ongoing support,” said Green in a statement to Game File. “Bringing the Ultimate Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 gave us the opportunity to build on an already solid foundation.”
He acknowledged that development came with its challenges, but said the team carefully balanced performance trade-offs to preserve the original vision of the game.
“We haven’t had to struggle with memory limitations,” Green added. “And thanks to the faster storage, we avoided the early streaming issues, which let us focus on refining other aspects of the game. We’re really proud of the result.”
Notably, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be one of the few third-party launch titles for Switch 2 to come fully on a cartridge — unlike many others that rely on Game-Key Cards requiring online downloads.
