Kojima Productions has officially announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has gone gold, meaning the final version of the game is ready for production and distribution. The team, led by Hideo Kojima, shared the news on social media on May 9.
The game is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025. Players who purchase the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions will receive 48-hour early access starting June 24.
The sequel picks up 11 months after the events of the original Death Stranding, continuing the story of Sam Porter Bridges (played by Norman Reedus). Players can expect new biomes, a ship-based hub, the mysterious character Dollman, and even the option to skip boss battles without missing key narrative content.
Alongside the game, Kojima Productions has revealed a limited-edition DualSense controller themed after Death Stranding 2, designed to match the game’s distinct futuristic style.
