The publisher has shared exciting news on social media: over 4 million players have already ventured into Cyrodiil with Oblivion Remastered. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined the adventure. Thank you!” the post reads.
Xbox’s official X (Twitter) account responded with a playful comment: “That’s a lot of cheese wheels in pockets. Huge congrats!”
Oblivion Remastered was both announced and released earlier this week for consoles, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. On Steam, the game achieved impressive success — according to SteamDB, its peak concurrent player count has exceeded 170,000, making it the most concurrently played game in The Elder Scrolls series.
The remaster features a complete graphical overhaul, enhanced audio, and gameplay improvements. According to the developers at Virtuos, “every single asset in the game was recreated from scratch,” including fully reanimated lip-syncing based on the original performance capture data.
Founded in 2004, Virtuos is one of the world’s largest game development studios, specializing in supporting AAA projects and bringing popular titles to new platforms.
