Nintendo has announced a new Mario Kart World Direct, scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm UK. The 15-minute presentation will reveal new details about Nintendo Switch 2 software, with a special focus on Mario Kart World. Fans can tune in via the Nintendo Today app or the official broadcast link.
Set in a massive interconnected world, Mario Kart World allows players to race “virtually everywhere,” featuring 24-player races and multiple game modes. The new Knockout Tour challenges racers to survive a gauntlet of checkpoints—fail to place high enough and you’re eliminated. Meanwhile, Free Roam mode lets players explore off-track, capture scenic snapshots, and cruise freely with friends.
Mario Kart World launches on June 5, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
