Ubisoft has officially postponed the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows to February 14, 2025. Originally scheduled for November 15, 2024, the game was set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The delay comes in response to disappointing sales of Ubisoft’s previous project, Star Wars Outlaws. Despite receiving positive reviews, the game failed to meet the company’s commercial expectations. As a result, Ubisoft has opted to allocate additional time to refine Assassin’s Creed Shadows and ensure a stronger launch.
The extended development period will allow the team to polish core mechanics and achieve a higher level of quality. Ubisoft has also emphasized that its goal is to create engaging experiences for a broad audience, without prioritizing specific social agendas.
Another major change in Ubisoft’s release strategy is the removal of early access and season passes. Unlike previous entries, all players will gain access to Assassin’s Creed Shadows on launch day. Those who pre-ordered the game will receive the first expansion for free, and any payments made for early access will be refunded.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Ubisoft remains committed to delivering a high-quality experience and aims to meet the expectations of long-time fans of the franchise.
