Sony has officially confirmed the creation of a new game studio, Dark Outlaw Games, led by former Treyarch head and one of the key developers of Call of Duty, Jason Blundell.
In an interview with podcaster Jeff Gerstmann, Blundell revealed that Dark Outlaw Games has become part of PlayStation Studios’ internal teams. He stated that it is a great honor since “Sony doesn’t open new studios every day”, and he is determined to live up to the company’s trust.
At present, the Dark Outlaw Games team is fully staffed and has been working on its debut project for some time. However, details about the game remain undisclosed.
Jason Blundell is well known as one of the key developers behind the popular Zombie Mode in Call of Duty. He not only led its development but also personally designed two maps for the mode and contributed to the storyline of Call of Duty-themed comics.
