A countdown timer has appeared on the official Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater website, set to end on March 4. It is expected that Activision will announce a new project related to the franchise on that date.
Most likely, this will be a remaster—a string labeled “thps-3-4-countdown” was previously found in the website’s code, hinting at a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 re-release. The reference was later removed.
The website also lists Iron Galaxy, the studio behind the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, which has previously worked on remasters of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.
Rumors about a new Tony Hawk project surfaced last year, and this week they were reinforced by pro skater Tyshawn Jones, who stated in a podcast that he would be featured in an upcoming remaster.
Another hint appeared in the latest Call of Duty update, which added a skate park map featuring Tony Hawk logos and a reference to the March 4 date.
The last entry in the series, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, was released in 2020. In 2022, Tony Hawk revealed that Activision had initially planned a THPS 3+4 remaster but canceled it after Vicarious Visions was merged into Blizzard. Now, it seems those plans have been revived.
