Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6, has announced its readiness to support the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. This was confirmed by the company’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, during the latest financial report.
While Take-Two has not officially revealed any titles for Switch 2, Zelnick mentioned that Civilization 7 will be released on the first-generation Nintendo Switch, hinting at a potential release for Switch 2 as well.
“We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Nintendo. We support the platform when it makes sense for the individual release,” said Zelnick.
Take-Two never released GTA 5 on Switch, but the platform did see titles from the Borderlands, NBA 2K, and WWE 2K series.
Zelnick also credited the evolving Nintendo audience as a key reason for Take-Two’s future plans. “There was a time when Nintendo platforms were geared toward younger audiences, and that was reflected in our release schedule. Today, with the Switch and potentially Switch 2, the device can support any audience,” he explained.
Nintendo officially announced Switch 2 last month. A teaser video revealed the console and new Joy-Cons, but no release date has been given. More information will be shared during a Nintendo Direct in April.
