Mafia: The Old Country Trailer Leaks Ahead of The Game Awards Premiere

The trailer, visible below, was likely meant to be uploaded to YouTube’s advertising platform later tonight following the game’s appearance at The Game Awards. However, it seems to have been published prematurely.

Clocking in at a relatively short runtime, the leaked trailer hints at the possibility of a longer version debuting during the event. It also reveals the game’s planned release window: Summer 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles.

Accompanying the reveal is a description reminiscent of the series’ iconic tone:

“Fight to survive in this dangerous and unforgiving era, with action brought to life by the authentic realism and rich storytelling that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for.”

This description first appeared alongside an earlier teaser shown at Gamescom 2023, where Hangar 13 president Nick Baynes shared:

“What you just saw is the first early look at Mafia: The Old Country, a thrilling story set in 1900s Sicily during the origins of the Mafia. We’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the Mafia franchise, crafting a deep linear narrative with that classic mob movie feeling.”

The development of a new Mafia title was first confirmed in August 2022, with general manager Roman Hladík teasing:

“While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”
