Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is set to release this winter, bringing the legendary fighting series to Steam for the first time. While an exact release date has yet to be confirmed, Sega promises this remaster will deliver “the Ultimate Edition of this legendary game.”
The remaster will feature 4K visuals, updated high-resolution textures, and rollback netcode for smoother and more responsive online gameplay.
Sega describes Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. as the ultimate remaster of the iconic 3D fighting game:
“Challenge the greatest fighters in the world in Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., featuring Rollback netcode support, stunning 4K graphics, and all the martial arts combat that made the original a classic. Battle through Arcade or Rank Match modes, host custom online tournaments with up to 16 players, or learn from the best in Spectator Mode. Master your fighting style and become a legend in the Fifth World Fighting Tournament.”
Earlier this month, Sega’s head of transmedia, Justin Scarpone, hinted that another Virtua Fighter game is also in development. Speaking with VGC, he mentioned Virtua Fighter alongside other classic Sega franchises being revived, including Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage, and Shinobi.
