Bandai Namco to publish medieval fantasy RPG from former Witcher developers

The Rebel Wolves studio, founded in 2022 by The Witcher 3’s game and art director, has announced its first game — Dawnwalker saga. This story-driven fantasy action RPG is set in medieval Europe and aimed at a mature audience. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.

Bandai Namco will publish the game in both digital and physical formats for PC, PS5, and Xbox. Rebel Wolves’ publishing director Tomasz Tinc stated that Bandai Namco is the ideal partner for their team due to their expertise in RPG publishing and willingness to work with new IPs.

Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, VP of business development at Bandai Namco Europe, noted that this is a significant milestone in their content development strategy for the Western market. He expressed his excitement about the universe being created by Rebel Wolves, adding that it will be a great addition to Bandai Namco’s portfolio.

In January 2024, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a veteran of CD Projekt Red, joined Rebel Wolves as creative director. He was previously the lead quest designer for The Witcher 3 and its expansions, and also served as quest director for Cyberpunk 2077.
