New multiplayer maps have been added to Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer mode

New maps in the game include Grime, set around an abandoned London canal, and Checkpoint, based on the fortress of Rebirth Island.

They will be available on May 1 as part of the Season 3 Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

Activision has released a trailer for the new maps, which can be viewed at the top of this page, and also published guides for Grime and Checkpoint.

“Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the abandoned banks of the London canal,” the Grime guide says. “The towering SKN Comms building overlooks the center near the boat docks, bars, and cafes, offering a glimpse of a once-active corner of England’s capital.

“This small to medium-sized urban landscape combines alleys and thoroughfares with narrow interior spaces, while the canal below provides a quiet means of crossing to the other side.”

“Bring the fight to the fortress area of Rebirth Island, renamed Checkpoint in this mid-sized multiplayer variant focused on ground combat,” reads the Checkpoint guide.

“The upper passageways and communication tower are sealed off here, and the road is barricaded off from the main island, centralizing the battle around the main gate.

“Breach the arsenal and garage in the central building or skirmish on the road or in the roundabout out back. There’s an environment suited to all play styles here, with the best operators seamlessly navigating the map.”
